Exotic Sin - Live at Nottingham Contemporary + Maxwell Sterling & Neneh Cherry
A performance dedicated to Moki & Don Cherry -- in the Moki Cherry display at Linder Sterling's 'House of Fame' exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary 24/06/18. Exotic Sin are Naima Karlsson (piano, singing bowl) and Kenichi Iwasa (trumpet, japanese woodwinds, flute, percussion, vibraphone) Guest performers - Maxwell Sterling (double bass) & Neneh Cherry (vocals) The performance incorporated some Exotic Sin pieces with a few of Don Cherry's compositions on piano, and Kenichi Iwasa played a variety of Cherry's instruments. Tracks - Beautiful Death Don's interlude Black Desk Terry's Tune Desireless Exotic Sin are a collaborative duo formed of Naima Karlsson and Kenichi Iwasa. The duo play a variety of acoustic instruments, combined with some electronic sound. Improvisation and live recording are their core process, combined with aspects of composition and repetition.
