An app is installed in your smartphone, in this case my Android LG, and after it syncs to the tracker, you can locate it by clicking on a button in the app. You can also use the iTag to locate your phone, range is about 40 feet. It was inexpensive, just $2, and it works, somewhat. However after it establishes a connection, it sometimes disconnects and then the iTag chirps until you disable it. The app used is iTracing2 which can track an number of device, and their GPS location on a map in the app. If the BT device on your keychain, dog or etc. gets out of range it will beep. Uses a CR2032 battery.
