2011 Taurus 3.5L DOHC Spark Plug Change – Intake Plenum Upper Manifold Removal (easy)

This video shows how to change the spark plugs in a 2011 Ford Taurus SEL 3.5L DOHC. To get to the rear plugs along the firewall requires removal of the intake plenum / upper manifold. This is actually much easier to do than I had anticipated and requires very few tools. 5/8 Spark Plug Socket, 3/8 Ratchet, 3/8 long extension, 8mm socket, ¼ ratchet, ¼ long extension, screwdriver, pliers or vice grips, spark plugs, silicone grease, torque wrench, door trim tool, anti-seize, upper intake plenum gasket. The clips on the hoses are fragile, be careful during removal. Nothing needs to be forced. At 160K miles everything came off very easily. The service manual states to change the plugs every 100K miles. I torque my plugs to 10 foot pounds and use anti-seize on the threads. The torque is 7.5 foot pounds for the 8mm intake bolts.
