Richard Sakwa; The Multipolarity Has Its Own Dilemmas
According to Richard Sakwa, Professor Emeritus of Politics, University of Kent, this year the Valdai Club Annual report focuses on epochal changes in international politics, especially on multipolarity. The multipolarity has its own dilemmas. It is necessary to avoid a changing of logic of one hierarchy with another. The concern is that too much of discussion today is focused on the return to the Westphalian principles, that states are simply establishing their sovereignity. There must be a Westphalia+, so plus the principles of internationalism, how the states work and cooperate with each other. We need to find a way to restore the diplomacy.
