Tutankhamun, most commonly known as King Tut, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh around the end of the 18th Dynasty. He is still very well known today because his tomb was discovered in 1922 by archaeologists, and it contained some astonishing treasures. Based on what we have learned through research, it appears that King Tut died sometime around 1323 B.C.E. at the young age of just 19 years old. It appears that Tutankhamun had a broken leg, and it was a resulting infection that was the possible cause of his early demise. King Tut had the smallest of all royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and seems to have been buried in a second-hand coffin.
