You probably must have heard of zombies, virus-infected walking corpses which do not have a mind of their own. Although human zombies are not real (at least for now fortunately), zombie crabs and shrimps do exist, and the mastermind behind it all is a tiny parasite. This group of parasites are microscopic creatures that are known as rhizocephalans. Rhizocephalans do not have any limbs and internal organs except for reproductive organs, some muscle tissue and a simple nervous system. How can these simple and tiny creatures gain control of the crabs and shrimps that are much larger and more complex?
