Today’s video is going to be about why I think drama and commentary are important. I’m going to explain why I think the way our society denigrates and dismisses these things has negative affects on our social relationships and interactions. We will be using an Gabbie Hanna, Rachel Oates, and Jimmy Snow as our examples here. I’m going to be talking about how Gabbie seems to have befriended Jimmy in order to plant the seeds that he should talk to Rachel about the review videos that she was doing about Gabbie Hanna’s poetry books (Dandelion and Adultolescence). I’m gonna talk about how if Jimmy had looked into things, meaning paid attention to the drama, he would’ve seen this coming from 100 miles away. But because he thinks he’s above drama, he didn’t, and he threw away a years long friendship. Jimmy is a longtime member of the YouTube skeptic community which prides itself for using on reason & logic to make choices about how to live their lives and what religions to follow. Interestingly, he didn’t feel the need to look into anything further in the scenario between Rachel Oates and Gabbie Hanna. In my opinion, it’s because it was drama related and then his mind dismissed it because we are socialized to treat drama as trivial. It’s unfortunate that after all the time he has spent unlearning toxic theology, he still has not unlearned our society’s toxic messages about things associated with women, such as drama and gossip.
