How to replace MacBook Pro Unibody Missing & Damaged Rubber Feet in MacBook Pro 13" .
Macbook pro Unibody A1278 Mid 2009 to Mid 2012 Rubber feet replacement Replace the missing and damaged feet from the bottom of your MacBook following these quick steps! The repair is easy to follow. The Macbook Pro's feet though securely attached from manufacture and general assembly (standard) can sometimes fall off seemingly for no apparent reason, but fortunately they're very easy to repair. Tool kit needed • MacBook Pro 13" Unibody A1278 Mid 2009 to Mid 2012 • Plastic Feet compatible with MacBook and MacBook Pro Unibody • Alcohol Pad • Adhesive Cleanup Pad • Retracted Pen or Angled Tweezers • Precision Bit Driver • 4 mm Precision Phillips #00 Bit Step A Remove the following ten screws from bottom case: Three 14.4 mm Phillips #00 screws ( make sure these screws go back in there original holes insitu) Three 3.5 mm Phillips #00 screws Four 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00 screws Take note: When replacing the small screws, align them perpendicular to the slight curvature of the bottom case as they don't go straight down at 90 degrees. Use your fingers to pry the lower case from the body of the MacBook near the vent fan. Remove the bottom lower case. Step B Remove any broken or damaged feet FOD Remove any pieces from the old foot that may have broken off in the foot hole prior to bottom case removed as well as after bottom case is removed Use retracted pen or tweezers to peel up and remove the old adhesive tape from the foot pad. Scrub the foot pad with adhesive remover to remove any remaining FOD or adhesive. Step C Wipe the mac book foot pad with an alcohol prep pad to remove any residue left by the cleaner. Align the new foot inside the foot pad whilst ensuring the alignment nub on the foot is lined up with the small hole near the circumference perimeter of the pad. Peel a replacement foot from the plastic backing. Lay the foot down while keeping it properly aligned with the mating hole of the foot pad Check for proper alignment from the inside of the lower case. Use the tip of your finger or tweezers to slide the alignment nub so it lines up with the hole taking care not to rub against the adhesive Step D Press the new foot down firmly with your finger and maintain pressure for 30 seconds to set the pressure sensitive adhesive on the foot. Support the other underside of the cover while you press the foot down on to the foot. Repeat the last the replacement feet installation steps for any broken or damaged feet needing replacement.
