2023 Rolex Awards for Enterprise: Inza Koné – West Africa’s Treasure Trove
As a 2023 Rolex Awards Laureate, Inza Koné is protecting one of Côte d’Ivoire’s last remaining primary rainforests, Tanoé-Ehy. The forest teems with life, including species found nowhere else on Earth. The Tanoé-Ehy Forest is also home to some of West Africa’s most endangered species of primate, including the possibly extinct Miss Waldron’s red colobus. Together with the local communities, Koné is protecting the forest to study its flora and fauna and better preserve it for future generations.
