During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Alexios explored the place at the request of Qamra, a healer tending to the workers of the Vineyard Canyon. At the fort, Kassandra found Qamra's tools. While at the fort, Kassandra also destroyed some war supplies, claimed the valuables held there, and killed the leaders of the men at the fort.
