Chefs Delight Awards Launch Covered by Mashariki Mix
Kenya's one of a kind annual Culinary Awards which aims at increasing the Quality of Service and Quality of Dining Experience, The Chefs Delight Awards Kenya was launched on the 26th July 2012 at the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi. The Nominated Restaurants treated guests to a variety and array of different foods and dishes that compliment their cuisine that their Restaurant has to offer. The Culinary Extravaganza and Awards was launched by Honourable Danson Mwazo, The former Minister of Tourism to Kenya. The event was attended by several dignitaries, corporates and lovers of food. The CEO of Chefs Delight and Leisure & Travel Guides EA Ltd (Go Places Kenya and Go Places Africa Brand) mentioned that these awards is a basis to initiate a platform to improve the standards of the culinary industry in Kenya and where Kenya will now be now seen as Global Culinary Destination. The Best Restaurants in Nairobi were voted by their diners who visited their dining establishments within a 6 month period and enjoying and rating their dining experiences by filling out an opinion form, which is then placed in a ballot box. These forms are collected on a monthly basis and the restaurants in Kenya are rated by 5 facets of Quality; Ambiance, Taste, Presentation, Service and Food & Beverage Selection. The Gala Awards for 2012, took place on the 26th of April and the 2013 chapter will start in August 2013 where the Kenyan Coast Chapter of the Chefs Delight Awards will be launched.
