MS Flight Simulator Heaven, Paris Test Ride, 4K Extreme Settings, 100FPS
So.. I've been playing MSFS since I was a little kid in 1984 or so and I know it has always been a very taxing game. I do have a very beefy and recent system, but I have to tell ya, it took a few weeks of system tinkering to get to here.. Flying over NYC or Paris @ a buttery smooth 100FPS at 4K extreme settings feels like I just won the game or something :-D Something I could not imagine back then as a kid. Had to upload. As usual, actual gameplay is much smoother than this video. FPS counter is in the top left corner (small, even on a 4k monitor). I now have my game set up so that the Render Scaling in TAA is now basically a FPS slider. I only need 72FPS to get to half my monitors frequency, which is where I have locked my framerate. So now I just crank up the TAA RS slider to 120-130 to get down to about 72FPS. I basically implemented every trick in the book to get it this smooth and steady. Hardly any spikes at all. Thanks internet! The guide here gets you most of the way: https://www.flightsimulator.blog/2023/12/09/performance-boost-tricks/ Last step was some RAM overclocking, since thats where I identified my bottleneck. System is very stable now, and blazingly fast and smooth in FS, even on an aircooler. I think better cooling is up next. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 TUF OC CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF cooled by Be Quiet Shadow Rock 3 RAM: 64 GB DDR5-6000 (Overclocked to 6666hz) Resolution: 3840 x 2160, 144Hz OS: Windows 11 Home Retail
