The same removal and replacement procedures apply to all configurations of the notebook. Before you begin: Remove the optical drive (if installed), base enclosure, battery, wireless module, USB board, subwoofer, fan, RJ-45 door, system board, and display panel assembly. Removal: Carefully remove the left hinge cover from the clips and tabs that secure it to the display panel assembly. The right hinge cover is removed in the same manner. Replacement: Toe the tabs on the right hinge cover under the edge of the display enclosure and gently apply pressure to snap the right hinge cover into place. IMPORTANT: Ensure that the display panel cable is free from being pinched between the hinge cover and display panel assembly. The left hinge cover is replaced in the same manner. Caution: Improperly installing or replacing parts could damage your HP device or void your warranty. Before replacing any parts, check your warranty.
