Halo: Infinite PC Beta Gameplay on MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC

#Halo #RTX2060Super Speaking as a lifelong Halo fanboy, I absolutely love the beta so far! It’s old-school Halo but with a mixture of new gameplay mechanics that enhance the experience. The sound design is superb as well. However, the game’s sporadic performance on PC is quite bothersome. First of all, I couldn’t get MSI Afterburner or FPAPS to work in-game no matter what I did. The only tool that worked for me was Nvidia’s built-in overlay for performance metrics. Observe the 99% frames in the graph throughout the gameplay (I apologize for the small size). The difference between my average and minimum frame rates is crazy! As you’ll see, the sporadic frame times make for a VERY stuttery gameplay experience. Turning VSync on or off didn’t do much for performance, nor did lowering the graphical settings. I don’t think it’s a problem with my GPU since the game is by no means the most demanding title to run. I have played many graphically demanding games on my GPU with a breeze; thus, I am led to believe the issue is just with the game itself. However, this is a beta build of the game and 343 is more than likely aware of the performance hiccups on PC and will fix them before or shortly after launch. Overall, I am very excited for Halo: Infinite since it feels like the ship is finally being steered in the right direction. My rig: i9-9900 Asus Prime Z390-P 32gb Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 3200MHz MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus OC edition 1TB Intel 660p M.2 SSD 2x 1TB Samsung 860 Evo SATA SSD Corsair CX750M
