Compaq Presario 5000 case mods for Windows Vista gaming PC
I just wrapped up this case and build for now, still some parts needed to completely finish it. This is a Compaq Presario 5000 case from around 1998 or 99, with a Gigabyte AM2+ micro ATX motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ CPU, 8gb's DDR2, and an ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 GPU, and a Seasonic 650 watt PSU. It is running Windows Vista SP2. The case was completely disassembled, powder coated in sky white, modifications were made to the metal and plastic to install a 120mm fan in the front. The CPU is cooled with an AMD Wraith Prism cooler from a 3800x, and the CPU stays in the 40's during a cinebench R15 run. I am very happy with this build so far, and hope I can source another 5000 for the rest of the parts to complete it soon.
