Gran Turismo 3 - Playthrough Part 27 - Special Stage R5 Wet Rally Events
Gran Turismo 7 is coming out in March 2022, so I want to try to get a good amount of completion in all of the previous Gran Turismo games until then. Here you can see me completing the Special Stage R5 Wet rally events in the simulation mode of Gran Turismo 3. After that I moved to PC though, so I never got to play GT 4-6. Before GT7 I want to try to revisit GT 1-3 and also play through GT 4-6 for the first time. I am not sure if I will manage to get all of it done but I will see how far I can get. In this video I am doing the rally events on the Special Stage R5 Wet track (forward and reverse). For each rally track and direction there are 3 races. Unfortunately all 3 have the same opponent and the later ones just have a higher number of laps and the opponent is faster. On this track we are facing the Lancer and Impreza Prototypes, while our reward cars are the Xsara and another copy of the Impreza Prototype. The Xsara is unique among the rally cars in GT3 in that it has front wheel drive. It also requires the stage 2 turbo upgrade to get the same level of power that most rally cars get with stage 1. I was still able to make it work though. Now I have completed all of the rally events in GT3 and as a reward for that I got the epic Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, which is one of the most powerful cars in the game. Note: Unfortunately GT3 on emulator has some performance issues during night races and other races with light effects. Please do not focus on this issue in the comments. Ideally do not comment on it at all. I am completely aware of it but there is nothing that I can do about it with the hardware that I currently have available. In this video all races take place at night, so all of them are affected by this. Feel free to skip this video if you don't want to see races in slow motion. Just don't bring it up in the comments. I don't want these small performance issues to take any attention away from the fact that I am doing a playthrough of this awesome game and having fun doing so.
