Home Lab Storage System
Here's a video about some of my home lab storage and inventory system. Hopefully this gives you ideas for your own home lab. Let me know if you'd like to know more about any particular area. Here are links to some of the various things I mentioned: I use https://PartsBox.io for my inventory system. Akro-Mils Akro-Grid storage boxes: https://akro-mils.com/Products/Types/Plastic-Storage-Containers/Akro-Grid I use the 33166 and 33164. You can get them on Amazon, Grainger, and many other places.t The Sterilite boxes I got from target (You can get them much cheaper if you get many): https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-small-storage-tote-with-clips-green/-/A-14455509 https://www.target.com/p/clip-storage-box-green-room-essentials-8482/-/A-14758436 https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-deep-clip-box-clear-with-green-latches/-/A-13794803 You can find other places to get these on the Serilite website: https://www.sterilite.com/SelectProduct.html?id=472&ProductCategory=250§ion=1 The label printer is a Brother QL-570. I use the DK-2205 2.4" continuous paper since the printer cuts the paper to size automatically. I think the printer is no longer made, but there are newer compatible versions. You can still get the paper here: https://www.amazon.com/Brother-Genuine-DK-2205-Continuous-Length/dp/B0002VS66W The barcode scanner is a Zebra DS22 The anti-static bags I use are the following (from Digi-Key): https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/scs/30046/SCP314-ND/1621597 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/scs/30023/SCP403-ND/3430453 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/scs/30035/SCP417-ND/3430456 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/scs/817Z44/SCP816-ND/9606845 The non esd-safe bags I got from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194CUOAK/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194CV5NU The scripts I use to pull digikey part information for the barcode generation are here: https://github.com/alvarop/dkbc And the actual barcode/label generator script is here: https://github.com/alvarop/inventory_label
