Clean gas as climate fraud with Esteban Servat and Louise Wagner

In november Global Aktion together with gas activists Esteban Servat and Louise wagner exposed the climate fraud of so-called "clean gas". The European gas lobby wants us to believe that natural gas is "an important part of the green transition" as it emits less carbon dioxide than other fossil fuels and is therefore claimed to be more "environmentally friendly." However, the extraction of natural gas is a major cause of methane emissions, a gas that is actually much more damaging than carbon dioxide. But not only is gas not nearly as green as we are being led to believe: The extraction of gas also causes severe human rights violations, especially in the Global South. In short, Europe is outsourcing its emissions to the rest of the world, at the expense of the people who have contributed the least to the climate catastrophe. The talk was held at 22nd of November, when anti-gas and anti-fracking activists Esteban Servat from Argentine and Louise Wagner from Germany revealed the true role of Europe in the climate crisis and the potential of international solidarity, showing how the Global South and Global North are coming together in joint actions connecting the dots in the supply chains of multinational climate criminals. Global Aktion is a solidarity organization working with people's movements all over the world in the fight for political change towards a more just and equitable world. This event is supported by Europa Nævnet
