At first, it seemed like all things would be going according to plan, but with the poor reception and sales over time of Vanguard and the lack of interest in a WWII setting for Warzone, the past few months have been… Odd to say the least. Add that in with the lack of content that we’ve been seeing in the past few seasons and many wonder what’s next? Well, with Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon, there’s a very real possibility that for the first time ever, a Warzone season may be canceled. Season 6 has been a long-time question mark for Warzone in the Vanguard era and with the push towards Modern Warfare 2 being a very real concentrated effort, it may in fact be the reason why we don’t get a Season 6. If we take a look at how the timetable could break down to give us a Season 6 for Warzone and Vanguard, it really comes down to if Activision wants to start a cyclical refresh and start brand new and fresh with Modern Warfare 2. It’s still possible we see the normal Season 6 launch ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 launch leading directly to the Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 launch, but at the same time, Modern Warfare 2’s launch may mark the start of a brand-new cycle, one that wouldn’t require any overlap from game to game like we’ve seen the last two years. So, for the first time, a Warzone Season May be canceled as a result. Today we’re breaking down what you need to know ahead of the mid-season update for Season 3 in Warzone and of course talking the possibilities ahead.
