Daniels is a Playbook co-author and White House correspondent for POLITICO as well as an MSNBC political analyst. He spoke with Jane Hall of AU’s School of Communication and students about media coverage of Harris and the prospect for a Biden/Harris ticket as well as other potential candidates among both Democrats and Republicans in 2024 , including former president Donald Trump and other Republican candidates. Daniels, who is Black as well as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, also spoke with students about his career and the impact and importance of greater diversity and voices in political journalism. In this segment Daniels talks about covering Kamala Harris and her trip to Africa as well as media coverage of the vice-president overall. This event was a co-production of American University’s School of Communication and the non-partisan, student-led Kennedy Political Union at AU. Learn more about SOC in the links below.
