Fly-Fishing a BWO Hatch, "Perdigons, Czech Nymphs, Soft Hackles, Dry Flies"
Today, I was prepared, several days earlier, I wasn't. With the creek being on the high side, there wasn't much top water action. But, I was ready for them underneath, an olive Czech-nymph, an olive perdigon, and an olive soft hackle emerger kept me consistently into fish all day. I was able to take advantage a few fish I caught rising in a slow flat section, landed 3, but the top water action was short lived. Mostly very healthy wild brownies with a couple big boys and mixed in with some recently stocked roaming rainbows, kept me happy. With all this rain we've been getting lately, try focusing on the tailwaters, limestoners, and tributaries, they usually produce much better in those conditions.
