Ancient Antique Cloth/Rope/Textile Pitch Lined Bowl/Pot Basket Stumped

It is a an ancient antique basket bowl or pot. It is made of woven textile/rope or cloth covered in a thick pitch on the inside. We are absolutely stumped on this one. It matches some ancient baskets, but not enough where we feel confident saying where it is from. It measures approx. 3 3/4" high and 6" across.
