Y10 Reactivity Series - Reaction of Calcium with cold water.

3 small granules of calcium are added to a boiling tube that is half-filled with water. The hydrogen is collected in an inverted boiling tube held above the other. Observations are made and the gas bubbling is tested. It is explained that this is a relatively simple way to make a small sample of hydrogen gas.
