Heritage Equity Partners Speaker Series- "Structural Engineering in Architecture" Fruma Narvo
This video was filmed and produced entirely by students of Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design. As part of WHSAD's ongoing partnership with Heritage Equity, on Tuesday, February 9th, Ms. Fruma Narov, PE, spoke with some of the 9th grade students about her career as an engineer. Ms. Narov provided an overview of the history of bridge design, and explained how the development of different materials has affected the design of bridges and other structures. She discussed with the students how the structural engineer and architect work together on a building -- the architect focuses on the aesthetics, while the engineer makes sure the building stands up! Ms. Narov returned to WHSAD later in February to give a similar talk to the 11th grade students.
