Pioneer CT-F900 Vintage Three-Head Cassette Deck Restoration, Part 2 (Audio Test)
This is an audio demonstration of this CT-F900 Pioneer CT-F900 Vintage Three-Head Cassette Deck Restoration featured on eBay. Two YouTube Library selections, recorded on a high bias, Maxell UD2 tape. The process was to set the cassette deck for high-bias, with Dolby in, and the input volume adjusted so the average VU was between 0 and +2 on the meter. Then, the selection was recorded. Afterward, the selection was played back from the same cassette deck into an Apple Mac where an MP3 file was created from the recording. Doing this ensures that any imperfections that may exist during the recording phase and/or the playback phase would be apparent in the final recording. The first selection, "Vespers on the Shore," lets you listen for flutter while enjoying the lowered tape hiss due to the use of Dolby B noise reduction in during the recording. The second selection, "Triumph on the Prairie," lets you listen for high and low end clarity, any audible distortion, and any recording imperfections that may occur.
