On January 20, the Valdai Club hosted an expert discussion titled “The Global South and the Trump Challenge”. The experience of 2025, when most nations responded to Trump’s challenges individually, raises critical questions. What form could a viable “united front” for the Global South take? What are the primary obstacles to coordinating policy among non-Western countries against US restrictive measures? And upon what shared value foundation could such coordination be built?
