In this video, a story about three unique aircraft: each of them exists in the world in one copy. The reason was their unusual liveries. You will learn about all the details by watching the video and listening to the author’s story. Airplanes with the following registration numbers were shot in the film: YL-CSL, YL-CSK, YL-CSJ The author’s own shootings were carried out at the Riga International Airport, Latvia Camera: Panasonic HC-VXF1 Microphone: Boya BY-BM2021 The video voiceover text: Today I tell you an unusual story - I mean the words that you just read as the name of this film. Baltic Air Trinity. Of course, there is a fraction of humor in the title, but, nevertheless, this phrase fully reflects the essence and meaning embedded in it. Specifically, this story began in 2018, but the prerequisites for it go back to the last century, and not only at its beginning, but also in the last decade. It was based on the events of the first of 1918, and then of 1989. Such an intrigue. So, let’s start the engine and here we go. First things first. Now you can see a modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, it was just recently called the Bombardier CS300, but the Bombardier division of the company that makes passenger planes no longer exists, because it is absorbed by the Airbus, and it’s aircrafts received a new name. This is a plane of the Latvian airline airBaltic in a classic livery. Over the past decade, the design of airBaltic aircrafts has undergone some changes, it is no longer necessary to prove its innovativeness by putting on board the website address on the Internet, but, as you can see, the minimalistic design has been preserved. In 2018, the Republic of Latvia celebrated one hundred years since the proclamation of its own independence from the Russian Empire. Or from Soviet Russia. Such a difficult moment, since the struggle for independence began even under Tsar Nikolai the Second, and they gained recognition of independence already under the government of the Vladimir Lenin. One hundred years later, this event in Latvia was celebrated on a state scale. airBaltic Airlines also made a very non-standard contribution to this event, namely: one of the new Airbus A220-300 airplanes of the airline was taken and painted in non-standard livery. You saw the evolution of standard liveries half a minute ago: the photo showed the Boeing 737 from the beginning of the two thousandth year, and the video Airbus that fly today. And now you are looking at the Airbus A220-300, the livery of which was created on the basis of the image of the flag of Latvia. The plane was repainted in 2018. The plane with the registration number of Yankee Lima Charlie Sierra Lima, what you heard now was the phonetic aviation alphabet, and so this plane flies today on regular flights of the airBaltic airlines and pleases with its appearance passengers and airspotters at all airports in Europe, and sometimes it appears at the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, operating flights Riga-Moscow-Riga. And even this plane can be found even at the airport of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Now we turn to the story of the second aircraft from the Baltic Air Trinity. If you guess that the livery of this aircraft was created on the basis of the image of the flag of the Republic of Lithuania, then you will be absolutely right. But if you think that we are again talking about the centenary of the independence of Lithuania this time, then here you are already not completely right. The decision to create an exclusive livery for this aircraft with a tail number of Yankee Lima Charlie Sierra Kilo was made in connection with a completely different event. Now I tell you the way: on August 23, year 1989, residents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia built a live chain of about 670 km in length, which took almost two million people, that is, about 25% of the population of the three Baltic republics at that time. Thus, the living chain connected Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. The action, known as the Baltic Way, was timed to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the famous Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, and the purpose of the action was to draw the attention of the foreign community to the historical events that led to the inclusion of the then three independent republics in the USSR in 1940: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The action, according to the organizers, demonstrated the growing confidence of the forces fighting for the independence of the Baltic republics from the Soviet Union. The Baltic Way made it possible to demonstrate the desire of the Baltic peoples to separate themselves from the USSR. In 2019, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of the events of 1989. Now we wait until the plane flies in a livery with the colors of the Lithuanian flag and move on to the next, and the next in this story will be ....
