Quick demo of DX11 mode vs the default DX12 mode in Final Fantasy VII Remake. DirectX 11 seems to have better frametimes however do not expect all stuttering to completely go away especially in bigger towns. There are some places that seem to stutter 100% of the time maybe due to poor asset streaming optimization or something. Anyways, hope this helps folks. Update: You may also want to install the mod that disables the dynamic resolution scaler. I have done that before doing my video. May not affect stutter but it can make the game less blurry: https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/22?tab=description&BH=0 Update 2: For people watching this with the Steam version, I hear the launch command is different. Add -d3d11 if you want to use DirectX 11. HOWEVER! Nvidia recently released a driver update that seems to smooth out the default DX12 mode quite a bit. So if you have an Nvidia GPU it may not be necessary to do this anymore. Try it and see if it feels better.
