2022 Warcraft III Reforged Campaign Path of the Damned Ch 6 Blackrock & Roll, Too!
Warcraft 3 Reforged Recorded in 2022 on Ver. 1.33.0 This is the Classic Mode of Reforged and what would be the campaign mode of Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos. Chapter Six of the Path of the Damned Campaign. Following Kel'Thuzad's resurrection, Arthas speaks alone with the lich as they walk along a snowy pass on their way to the next battle. Speaking face to face in an extended conversation with Kel'Thuzad for the first time not as a ghost, a naive Arthas asks if Kel'Thuzad is upset about being killed by Arthas. Kel'Thuzad's attitude towards Arthas as a ghost has not changed after his revival into undeath and he calmly replies that the Lich King was all knowing and informed Kel'Thuzad of how he would die and eventually be brought back. The Lich King, Kel'Thuzad continues, even chose Arthas to become his champion before the Scourge was even formed, implying that he understood Arthas's character long before and planned everything out from planting rumors of a powerful runeblade that lured Muradin to Northredn and everything that needed to be done to push Arthas over the edge and lead him to Frostmourne as he grew his army of Undead unnoticed until it was too powerful to resist. As agreed, Kel'Thuzad fills Arthas in on the role of the Dreadlords and how the chain of command goes up even higher to demons from other worlds known as the Burning Legion. Arthas, by his connection to the Lich King through Frostmourne, obeys the Dreadlords as it is they who seem to run things whereas the Lich King is all but absent. Knowing the Lich King to be more powerful than any mere Dreadlord, Arthas questions the circumstances and is informed that the Dreadlords are the Lich King's jailers and there to make sure the Scourge did its part in clearing a path for the Burning Legion. The Lich King in fact was created by the Burning Legion and could not openly defy his creators, which is why he resorted to subterfuge and has need of a powerful champion like Arthas and wise advisors such as Kel'Thuzad to carry out his plan to free himself from his ice prison. All this time Arthas had carried out his tasks without question, if not blindly, and relished slaying his enemies, many of them people he knew and was respected by when he was a paladin and heir to King Terenas of Lordaeron. He was in the dark about what all he did meant outside of growing the undead armies of the Scourge and eliminating those who stood in his way. There is a tinge of disbelief in Arthas's tone when he muses that everything was all part of some unknown demon's plan, Kel'Thuzad cooly affirms that much of the history of their world of Azeroth has been centered around the conflict with demons, even if the young Human race was ignorant of it. Moving on to the battlefield, Arthas, having conquered Quel'Thalas and resurrected Kel'Thuzad as a Lich, leads his army of Undead against the Blackrock Orcs defending a demon gate that would allow Kel'Thuzad access to Archimonde. Though the Scourge and the Blackrock Orcs both ultimately serve demon masters, Kel'Thuzad explains to Arthas that the Orcs no longer hold any favor with the demons, so killing them would not cause any problems in the grand scheme of things. The Orcs perceive the Undead as a test to gain the favor of their demon masters and eagerly head into battle against Arthas's forces. Finding himself fighting against Orcs once again, Arthas maneuvers his forces to repel attacks from different directions. Though the Blackrock Orcs had red dragons, the frost wyrms sent to aid Arthas were more than a match for dragons. Upon killing one of their leaders, he discovers demon tomes that would enhance his powers and took it upon himself to finish them all off and collect the rest of their treasures. The Orcs fought hard but to no avail and were all slain. When Kel'Thuzad accesses the demon gate to make contact with Archimonde, they receive their first direct orders from the arch demon. They were to go to Dalaran and acquire the spellbook of a powerful wizard known as Medivh. It was the only thing powerful enough to use as a catalyst to open a gate that could summon Archimonde onto Azeroth.
