A plethora of portable speakers offer various features with a promised good sound quality, sadly only a few ones stand out. This is where the JBL Clip comes in, it’s a compact and lightweight speaker that offers big sound in a small size. It’s basically a small, rechargeable mono speaker with a handle on top that lets you hook it up anywhere – even your bag or clothing. It’s what JBL calls a ‘ready to wear’ speaker. Buttons are minimal, and you would find a call/answer button (yes it also works as a speakerphone) on the side, plus the volume control and a Bluetooth button that is used for pairing the speakers to compatible devices. Beneath the speakers you will also find a 3.5 mm audio cable that lets you connect it to other sources or simply use the other 3.5 mm port and just plug in any audio source that you want. There is also a micro USB port that is used for charging the JBL Clip. Setting up the device was hassle-free. Simply press the Bluetooth pairing button on the JBL Clip and once the blue light start blinking, you can now pair it with a compatible device. The JBL Clip performed well with our tests. I’ve hooked up with nearly every device I can think of that has Bluetooth. Trebles were clear and even bass levels were acceptable. At half volume, it easily can fill a small room with consistent sound quality. Problems though start to show when you put it at high volumes, to which small amounts of distortions are easily heard. Voice was clear and detailed when used as a speakerphone. After charging the JBL Clip for two hours, I got about 5 hours and 10 minutes of playback time from the speaker. The JBL Clip sports a unique design and offers a decent sound output. For it’s price and performance, it’s a decent travelling companion that’s small enough to be carried everywhere. Samma3a ship to UAE Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan.
