С 2008 года он занимает территорию бывшей промышленной зоны в районе Курского вокзала. В состав кластера входят архитектурные и дизайнерские бюро, шоурумы, офисы, университет креативных индустрий, Открытый музей, выставочные пространства, студии, рестораны и другие объекты. Основатель — Сергей Десятов, а генеральный директор — Дарья Устинова. Artplay считается первым креативным пространством Москвы и примером успешной джентрификации и редевелопмента. Здесь работают около 450 арендаторов, большинство из которых специализируются на архитектуре и дизайне. В кластере проходят мультимедийные выставки, городские фестивали и мастер-классы. В 2019 году, наряду с «Винзаводом» и музеем современного искусства «Гараж», Artplay вошёл в рейтинг лучших мегаполисов мира по версии международного агентства Resonance Consultancy, где Москва заняла шестое место. В июне 2020 года Центр дизайна Artplay получил статус первого креативного технопарка в Москве. Тогда же кластер был удостоен награды Traveller’s Choice от Tripadvisor, войдя в 10% лучших достопримечательностей мира. Artplay Design Center is a creative cluster in Moscow, founded in 2003. The cluster includes architectural and design bureaus, showrooms, offices, a university of creative industries, an outdoor museum, exhibition spaces, studios, restaurants, and other facilities. The founder is Sergey Desyatov, and the CEO is Daria Ustinova. Artplay is considered to be Moscow's first creative space and an example of successful gentrification and redevelopment. There are about 450 tenants working here, most of whom specialize in architecture and design. The cluster hosts multimedia exhibitions, city festivals, and workshops.
